Morning of June 2: 53 more positive cases; 20 districts in Ho Chi Minh City have outbreaks

The Ministry of Health on the morning of June 2 recorded 53 positive cases in the country, including 48 in Bac Giang, 3 in Bac Ninh, and 2 in Hanoi.

53 new cases were recorded from number 7573-7625, bringing the total number of infections in Bac Giang to 2,424, Bac Ninh 879, Hanoi 416 cases (of which 93 cases were at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, 50 cases at K Hospital).

The total number of community infections from April 27 to now is 4,549, recorded in 37 provinces and cities.

Currently, in addition to Bac Giang and Bac Ninh, the epidemic situation in Ho Chi Minh City is becoming more complicated. With 227 cases of infection announced, 20/22 localities in Ho Chi Minh City have recorded Covid-19 patients, only District 11 and Can Gio District have not had an outbreak.

The Phuc Hung Missionary Church in Go Vap District is still the outbreak with the most positive cases to date with 219 cases. "It is predicted that there will be about 500 more cases related to the Phuc Hung Missionary Church outbreak, because there are still many F1s in centralized quarantine areas," said Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Tan Binh.
Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said at a meeting with the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Ho Chi Minh City on June 1 that there are currently a number of cases in high-rise buildings and companies in industrial parks in the city, and the risk of the disease entering industrial parks is very high.

"HCMC has 1.6 million workers. If the epidemic is not controlled well, it will cause a crisis," Minister Long emphasized when recalling the lesson from Bac Giang.

Ho Chi Minh City has so far recorded dozens of infections in office buildings and factories. Notably, the infection branch at Thien Tu Service Investment Company, Tan Binh District, has 34 out of 300 employees infected with Covid-19. The closed working environment and use of air conditioning make the disease spread faster.
