Murdered love rival because of suspicion of being... "cuckolded"

On the afternoon of April 11, the Criminal Police Department of Binh Phuoc Province temporarily detained Pham Anh Tuan (31 years old, residing in Tan Khai Commune, Hon Quan District, Binh Phuoc) to investigate and clarify the act of murder.

According to the police: Tuan knew and had a romantic relationship with Ms. NHN (28 years old, residing in An Thoi commune, Mo Cay Nam district, Ben Tre). Tuan rented a room from Mr. Le Trong Kien (45 years old, residing in Hamlet 9, Minh Hung commune, Chon Thanh district) for Ms. N. to be the place where Tuan often visited with his lover.

At 11:30 p.m. on April 9, Tuan went to Chon Thanh district from Ho Chi Minh City for work. When he arrived at Ms. N's room, Tuan was surprised to see Mr. Kim Thanh Son (28 years old, living in Minh Hung commune, Chon Thanh district) in the room with his lover. Tuan knew that Ms. N and Mr. Son had a relationship, so he was angry and had a verbal argument with Son. At this time, Mr. Son went into the room, took a Thai knife, put it in his pocket, and continued to argue and fight with Tuan.

Discovering that Mr. Son was holding a knife, Tuan pretended to “give in” and offered Mr. Son a cigarette. Taking advantage of Mr. Son’s lack of vigilance, Tuan quickly pulled out Mr. Son’s knife and stabbed the victim in the chest, breaking the handle of the knife. Being stabbed unexpectedly, Mr. Son hugged Tuan and both fell to the ground.

Seeing the chopsticks on the ground, Tuan immediately picked them up and continued to stab Mr. Son in the chest and face many times. After committing the crime, Tuan violently took the weapon and ran into the rented rooms in the same row to look for Ms. N but was unsuccessful. Although he was taken to the hospital by the people, Mr. Son died shortly after.

Immediately after that, Chon Thanh District Police deployed forces to protect the scene and proceeded to arrest the suspect. At 2:00 a.m. on April 10, detectives arrested Tuan and transferred him to the police headquarters for investigation.

Initially, Tuan confessed that due to jealousy and resentment because his lover "cheated" on his ex, he killed Son to vent his anger.
