There will be 5 sports competitions at the 2023 Nghe An Province Ethnic Minority Sports Festival
(Baonghean.vn) - The contest is a practical activity to celebrate the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day (April 19), and is also an opportunity to select athletes to join the provincial team to participate in the National Ethnic Minority Sports Festival in 2023.
Nghe An Department of Culture and Sportshas just issued the plan and regulations for the 2023 Nghe An Province Ethnic Minority Sports Festival.
Accordingly, the competition will take place from April 14 to 17, 2023 in Quy Hop district. The athletes participating in the competition are ethnic minorities residing in the districts of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Tan Ky, Que Phong, Quy Chau, Quy Hop, Nghia Dan, Thanh Chuong, Thai Hoa town and some communes of Quynh Luu district.
The teams will compete in 5 sports: Volleyball (men, women); Crossbow shooting (men, women); Con tossing (men, women); Tug of war (men, women); Stick pushing (men, women).

Also according to the competition regulations, mountainous districts are required to participate in at least one men's or women's volleyball team in addition to other competitions. Each athlete participates in a maximum of 02 competitions (not including Tug of War).
The contest is a practical activity to celebrate the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day (April 19), the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2023), International Labor Day (May 1), the 133rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023); at the same time, it aims to preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic minorities, continuing to improve the quality of the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".

The competition is also an opportunity to select athletes to join the provincial team to participate in the National Ethnic Minority Sports Competition in 2023./.
