Vinh University students make strong impression on US Ambassador

Speaking to students of Vinh University on the morning of March 14 during his visit and work in Nghe An, Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink informed that Vietnam is the 5th country in terms of the number of students studying in the United States (about 30,000 people).
He affirmed that they are all intelligent individuals, studious, exemplary citizens, and bridges to promote and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

The diplomat said that the United States has a very rich education system with many different schools: about 4,500 universities and colleges, from state schools to private schools. Therefore, he hopes that all students of Vinh University can find a suitable school for themselves.
“There has never been a better time than now for Vietnamese students to study in the United States,” Ambassador Daniel J. Kritenbrink affirmed.
“Vietnamese students are known for being smart and always trying hard in their studies. I am especially impressed with the English proficiency of Vinh University students. I love Vinh University students and I wish more Vietnamese students in general and Nghe An students in particular would study in the United States,” said Ambassador Kritenbrink.
The US Ambassador also affirmed that today, the US-Vietnam relationship is growing stronger than ever. After many years of war and hardship, the two countries have come together to establish a comprehensive partnership in all aspects of bilateral relations, from defense, trade, health, education to people-to-people exchanges.

On this occasion, Vinh University students participated in discussions and asked questions enthusiastically with Ambassador Kritenbrink, showing great interest in the US-Vietnam relationship; training programs, scholarships, and support for students studying abroad in the United States.

On the same morning, in a discussion with the US Ambassador's delegation, Prof. Dr. Dinh Xuan Khoa - Rector of Vinh University said that recently, Vinh University signed memorandums of understanding with many US universities such as the University of South Florida - the school that annually sends 20 students to study at Vinh University.
Vinh University welcomes many American experts to work long-term, along with many experts supporting English teaching and US-Vietnam cultural exchange.
Through the visit and work of Ambassador Kritenbrink, Vinh University hopes to continue receiving support from the United States in investment cooperation, support for English teaching programs and higher education innovation programs.
