How many days off do students get for Tet?
Some schools give students up to 28 days off for the Lunar New Year, the shortest school gives students almost half a month off.
According to the latest announcement from Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry, students will have Tet holiday from January 13 (December 19) to February 9 (January 16).
The school requires the faculties to proactively plan for students' internships to ensure progress. Thus, the total time off is 28 days, the longest among the schools.
For civil servants, public employees and workers, the holiday is from January 18 to February 9. The holiday is 1 week less than for students.
Students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance will have Tet holiday from January 18 (December 24) to February 9 (January 16).
On February 10, students return to school as usual. For staff and lecturers, the Lunar New Year holiday is from February 22 (December 28) to February 2 (January 9).

Meanwhile, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine gave students a break from January 20 (December 26) to February 2 (January 9).
Many universities also let students take Tet holiday from January 20 (December 26) to February 2 (January 9) such as: University of Finance and Marketing, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Ho Chi Minh City Banking University.
Meanwhile, many schools let students have an early Tet holiday from January 13 (December 19) to February 2 (January 9), such as: Van Lang University, Saigon University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, Open University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, Van Hien University, etc.
Students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology will have Tet holiday from January 15 (December 21) to February 4 (January 11). Meanwhile, also in the system of Ho Chi Minh City National University, students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities will have holiday from January 13 (December 19) to February 2 (January 9).
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to administrative agencies, public service agencies, social organizations, socio-political organizations. Officials, civil servants, public employees and workers are off for 7 days, from Thursday, January 23, 2020 to Wednesday, January 29, 2020 (ie from December 29, the year of the Pig to January 5, the year of the Rat).
