SLNA has found a deputy for head coach Nguyen Duc Thang.

(Baonghean.vn) - After coach Ngo Quang Truong stopped leading SLNA and returned to coaching the youth team, the Nghe An team appointed coach Nguyen Duc Thang to take on this responsibility, and also found an effective professional assistant for the new head coach.

According to information from SLNA Club, Coach Nguyen Duc Thang will officially take over the position of SLNA Head Coach from November 1. And to help the former SLNA assistant coach complete his task well, the Nghe An team's leadership has appointed Coach Nguyen Van Thinh as the remaining assistant.

Along with coach Pham Anh Tuan, SLNA's coaching staff in the 2017 season will include: Head coach Nguyen Duc Thang, coach Nguyen Van Thinh and coach Pham Anh Tuan.

Coach Nguyen Van Thinh is no stranger to Nghe An football fans. He is a former player and has contributed greatly to previous youth training achievements.

Coach Nguyen Van Thinh led the Vietnam U16 team to make history at the 2000 U16 Asian Cup held in Chi Lang, Da Nang. He led SLNA to a surprising 3rd place finish in the 2009 V.League.

After 7 years, Coach Nguyen Van Thinh returned to the SLNA coaching staff to compete in the V-League.

In the 2007 and 2009 seasons, Coach Nguyen Van Thinh was appointed as SLNA's head coach. In the 2007 season, he had to resign before the season ended after a series of poor results for the team.

In the 2009 season, under the leadership of Thinh "den", SLNA finished in 3rd place. However, coach Nguyen Van Thinh later resigned due to family reasons.

After so many years as a coach, Coach Nguyen Van Thinh is considered one of the best professionals at the Nghe An football team. However, he is not destined to be the head coach of SLNA because his qualification is only AFC C certificate, not qualified to practice in the current V.League.

In the recent national U21 qualifying round, coach Nguyen Van Thinh was expected to help U21 SLNA win a ticket to the final round. However, U21 SLNA lost 2/3 matches and had to accept elimination.

As a coach with a lot of experience in youth training, and with a veteran's expertise, the return of coach Nguyen Van Thinh to the coaching bench will certainly help the Nghe An team improve their playing style in the 2017 season./.
