Department of Tourism reports to Uncle Ho at Kim Lien relic site
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Tourism Industry (July 9, 1960 - July 9, 2017), on the morning of July 6, the collective of cadres, civil servants, and employees of Nghe An Department of Tourism held a flower and incense offering ceremony to report their achievements to Uncle Ho at Kim Lien National Special Relic Site, Nam Dan District.

Before the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, the leaders of the Department of Tourism reported the results of tourism activities in the first 6 months of 2017.
Accordingly, Nghe An tourism activities have had positive changes, the growth rate of visitors and tourism revenue has strongly recovered, especially in Cua Lo and coastal areas. Many new tourist destinations and community tourism models in Western Nghe An continue to be effective, contributing significantly to the growth of tourism in the whole province.
As a result, the total number of tourists to Nghe An increased by 30% compared to the same period in 2016, of which, tourists staying overnight were estimated at 2.1 million, up 32% compared to the same period in 2016, reaching 57.6% of the 2017 plan; international visitors were estimated at 39,400, up 20% compared to the same period in 2016.

Notably, total tourism revenue is estimated at 3,015 billion VND, up 57% over the same period in 2016, revenue from services in accommodation establishments is estimated at 1,446 billion VND, up 34% over the same period in 2016, reaching 56.5% of the 2017 plan.
In the coming time, the Department of Tourism will advise and implement a number of important tasks: renewing awareness and thinking about tourism development; restructuring the tourism industry to ensure professionalism, modernity and sustainable development according to the laws of the market economy and international integration; perfecting institutions and policies; investing in developing infrastructure and technical facilities for the tourism industry; strengthening tourism promotion; creating a favorable environment for businesses and the community to develop tourism; developing tourism human resources; enhancing the capacity and effectiveness of state management of tourism.
