The number of super-rich people in Vietnam will increase the fastest in the world.

According to Knight Frank's forecast, in the next 10 years, the number of super-rich people in Vietnam will increase the fastest in the world, up to 540 people.

Knight Frank's Wealth Report 2017 said that Vietnam currently has 200 super-rich people (owning 30 million USD or more) in 2016, an increase of 30 people compared to the previous year.

In the next decade, Vietnam is forecast to be the country with the fastest growth rate of super-rich people in the world at 170%, up to 540 people. Followed by India (150%) and China (140%).

The report also noted that Vietnam currently has one USD billionaire. This number will increase to three by 2026.

Knight Frank believes that the impressive growth rate of the super-rich in Asia will be reinforced by a number of countries, including Vietnam. The number of millionaires in Vietnam is forecast to increase from 14,300 to 38,600 in the next decade.

The report’s lead researcher, Andrew Amoils, commented: “Economic and political reforms have helped increase the incomes of Vietnamese people. Although Vietnam remains vulnerable to economic and environmental shocks, the outlook for the economy remains bright.”

Mr. Andrew Amoils also commented that the number of Vietnamese millionaires will increase sharply thanks to the development of healthcare, manufacturing and financial services.

In terms of investment trends, the 2017 Wealth Report found that the super-rich now invest 24% of their assets in real estate (excluding their first and second homes). Nearly one-third plan to invest in overseas real estate within the next two years./.
