Exciting VTV International Cycling Race Ton Hoa Sen Cup
(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of August 28, in Vinh city, the VTV International Cycling Race Ton Hoa Sen Cup 2016 held its 5th stage around Ho Chi Minh Square.
Attending the opening ceremony of the 5th race were leaders of Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Bicycle and Motorcycle Federation. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ho Phuc Hop - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An.

The 2016 VTV International Cycling Race Ton Hoa Sen Cup is the first race organized by Vietnam Television in collaboration with the Vietnam Bicycle and Motorbike Federation, celebrating the 71st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. The race starts from Da Nang city and ends in Hanoi capital.
This year's race has 15 racing teams, including 02 international racing teams from Thailand and Laos, consisting of 75 athletes, including many national team athletes, so the race has high professional quality.

The 5th stage of the race around Ho Chi Minh Square is 54km long, including 20 laps. Organizing the race is an opportunity for Nghe An to promote and introduce the image of its homeland to friends at home and abroad.
After more than 1 hour of competition, the Organizing Committee has determined the outstanding faces in the 5th race. The results: Racer Nguyen Thanh Tam (Team Hat Ngoc Troi) won first place; Racer Joc Koop (Team Laos, Dutch nationality) won second place and racer Le Ngoc Minh won third place.

In the “Circle Ho Chi Minh Square” stage of the 2016 Cross-Vietnam Cycling Tournament held in April, cyclist Nguyen Thanh Tam (member of the Vietnam national team) also won the stage. Coming in second in this 5th stage, cyclist Joc Koop will continue to hold the Yellow Jersey of the race.

Before the race, the Organizing Committee and athletes held a ceremony to offer flowers and incense at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House (Kim Lien, Nam Dan); offer flowers at the Uncle Ho statue, Ho Chi Minh Square; present 20 scholarships and bicycles to students overcoming difficulties in Nghe An province; present the Yellow Jersey and Green Jersey to the racers after stage 4./.
