Russian Su-34s attack Sumy region where Ukrainian troops are concentrated
Russian Su-34 supersonic fighter-bombers attacked a concentration of Ukrainian military personnel and equipment in the Sumy region with aerial bombs.

According to RIA Novosti, the Russian Defense Ministry said on August 9 that the military used a Su-34 supersonic fighter-bomber to attack a concentration of Ukrainian military personnel and equipment in the Sumy region - bordering Russia's Kursk region, with a 3-ton flying bomb.
“The crew of the Su-34 multi-role supersonic fighter-bomber of the Aerospace Forces attacked a concentration of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at a temporary deployment point identified as one of the districts of the Sumy region, bordering the Kursk region,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The attack was carried out using FAB-3000 aerial bombs with a universal planning and adjustment module.
After reconnaissance confirmed the destruction of the target, the flight crew returned to the airport and departed safely.
Early on August 9, the Russian Defense Ministry reported air and missile attacks on reservists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sumy region.
Meanwhile, the National Police of Ukraine announced the need to evacuate about 20,000 residents of a 10-km border area in this area.
In the Kursk region (Russia), acting regional governor Alexey Smirnov said that emergency grants in the amount of 10,000 rubles have begun to be processed for residents who were shelled and forced to leave their homes.
Earlier, Mr. Smirnov informed President Vladimir Putin about the need to provide one-time financial assistance to the population, since many people left their homes without documents. The Russian leader agreed to this proposal and promised that the resources would be sent in time. The head of state also instructed regional leaders, together with other agencies, to assess the damage caused - loss of homes, property. Mr. Putin called for "working directly with people, reaching every family."
Currently, the Russian government has allocated 220 million rubles from the budget to provide financial support to the people of the Kursk region.
In addition, the Russian National Anti-Terrorist Committee has established an anti-terrorist operational regime, which applies in such border regions as Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk.
