Captain and pilot Nguyen Thanh Trung, Deputy Head of the Training Department of the Training Center, Army Corps 18, died on November 17 while participating in a long-distance visual flight training course on a Cabri G2 helicopter in the UK, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense confirmed. The accident occurred near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, about 15 minutes after the helicopter took off from Wycombe Airport. Captain Nguyen Thanh Trung's helicopter was hit by another two-seat aircraft, also conducting a training flight at an altitude of 600 m, which suddenly lost altitude, crashed into the tail and caused the accident.
