Vinamilk yogurt attracts Thai consumers

(Baonghean.vn) - In recent months, consumers in Thailand have officially had the opportunity to get acquainted with yogurt products of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company Vinamilk. Vinamilk yogurt products are currently sold at Lawson convenience stores, Foodland shopping centers and supermarkets.

Promoting exports is also one of the strategies of Vinamilk - a national brand and the largest dairy company in Vietnam - to realize the goal of becoming one of the top 50 dairy companies in the world.

Recently, Vinamilk has chosen Topmost Enterprise Thailand as a strategic partner to distribute Vinamilk products here - a market worth up to 60 billion baht.

Vinamilk yogurt is sold at Lawson convenience store chain and The Mall and Foodland supermarket chain in Thailand.

Topmost Enterprise Managing Director Siwat Thamaratnothai said he offered to be the distributor for Vinamilk in Thailand after enjoying Vinamilk yogurt during a trip to Vietnam. Three months ago, the company also launched Vinamilk yogurt products in Thailand in well-known modern retail chains such as Lawson convenience stores, Foodland supermarkets, and other shopping malls.

Vinamilk yogurt is priced at 17-19 baht, equivalent to VND10,000 to VND12,000, higher than other brands on the market due to the high quality and delicious taste of the product. Most Enterprise Company expects to cover all distribution channels in Thailand in the second quarter of 2017.

A market analyst said Vinamilk has great potential in the Thai market because the consumption potential of this market is still promising. The yogurt market in Thailand in 2016 was estimated to be worth about 4.9 billion baht, equivalent to more than 2,555 billion VND. In the near future, Top Most Company also plans to distribute Vinamilk sterilized milk products in Thailand.

After nearly 40 years of development as the leading nutrition group in Vietnam and 18 years of export experience worldwide, Vinamilk not only meets the increasing domestic demand but also takes steps to realize the goal of globalizing its brand.

Vinamilk's yogurt booth with the theme "World of Yogurt" stood out at the Thaiflex fair and attracted a lot of attention and interest from customers and the press.

In the newly announced V1000 Ranking (1,000 Enterprises Paying the Largest Corporate Income Tax in Vietnam in 2016), Vinamilk has risen to the top 5, this is the first time a private enterprise has been recorded in the top of the list.

In 2015, thanks to great strides in production, business and effective investment, Vinamilk's revenue reached more than 40,222 billion VND, an increase of 15% compared to 2014, contributing 3,922 billion VND to the state budget.

Previously, Vinamilk was approved to increase its investment capital by another 3 million USD in Driftwood, bringing its total investment capital in the company to 10 million USD. The Vietnamese dairy company's ownership ratio increased from 70% to 100%. In addition to Driftwood, Vinamilk is investing in 3 subsidiaries, affiliated companies and branches abroad.

Of which, Vinamilk owns 100% of the capital of a company in Poland and owns 22.81% of Miraka Limited in New Zealand. Most recently, the Angkor Milk factory in Cambodia, in which Vinamilk holds 51% of the shares, has officially come into operation.

Regarding the domestic dairy market share, Vinamilk currently holds 55% of the liquid milk market share, 85% of the yogurt market share, 80% of the condensed milk market share, 40% of the powdered milk market share, with 212,000 retail outlets and 575 direct distribution stores. Vinamilk products are also available in nearly 1,500 large and small supermarkets and nearly 600 convenience stores nationwide.

To date, Vinamilk has exported to 43 countries and territories, including countries with very high requirements for the quality of nutritional products such as Japan, Canada, the US, Australia, etc. Vinamilk is currently preparing to inaugurate the first European-standard Organic Dairy Farm in Vietnam. The farm is built in Lam Dong province, according to the EU Organic standard system (EC 834/2007 and 889/2008).
