Accident at training camp, 8 US soldiers injured and killed
Two soldiers were killed and six others injured in a serious accident at the Fort Jackson army training center.
“A serious accident involving a military vehicle and troop assembly occurred at Fort Jackson late on the afternoon of October 6, resulting in the death of two soldiers and injuries to six others, two of whom were seriously injured,” the Fort Jackson training center announced.

The injured were taken to hospital for treatment. The identities of the victims have not been released as Fort Jackson officials are still in the process of contacting the families of the victims.
The cause of the incident is under investigation. Fort Jackson representatives did not provide further details.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the fallen and injured soldiers. They represent the best of America, and we will provide every possible support to those affected,” Fort Jackson commander Gen. Pete Johnson said in a statement.
Fort Jackson is the largest training center of the US Army with more than 50,000 new recruits enrolling each year./.
