"Young people's talents can be developed first thanks to their love for the Fatherland. After love comes passion, determination to overcome difficulties and not be afraid of failure," said the National Assembly Chairman.

On the morning of December 12, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung met with delegates attending the second Vietnam Young Talent Congress in Hanoi.

Entering the conference room with a friendly smile, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung shook hands with young delegates such as "child prodigy" Do Nhat Nam and musical talent Quach Hoang Nhi. He lingered to ask about where the young delegates were studying, then went up to the Chairman's seat.

In the opening, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said that the National Assembly building was built on the land left by our ancestors for thousands of years, continuing the historical tradition of Tan Trao, making the August Revolution successful, bringing the people out of the darkness of slavery, and gaining national independence.

Dien Hong meeting room is named after the famous "decisive battle" conference in history, demonstrating Vietnam's will to be independent and rise up.

Review literature, practice martial arts, hone talent

"We are gathered here, in the National Assembly, to honor young Vietnamese talents, from farmers, workers, students, intellectuals... Our youth is very heroic. You sitting here and other young people being honored, let's exchange and learn to promote Vietnam's talents," said National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

The National Assembly Chairman said he was very happy to hear the four young people speak emotionally, enthusiastically, and with love for the Fatherland, as well as the will to strive not only to be good Vietnamese citizens, but also to become global citizens.

According to the head of the National Assembly, we have global cultural celebrities. Many individuals and groups have won prizes at international competitions, not only in knowledge, but also in professional competitions. These things contribute to the strength of the nation.

"Without business, there is no wealth, without knowledge, there is no prosperity. Without knowledge, a country cannot prosper. The elders used to teach that talent is the vital energy of a nation. Uncle Ho also said that as young people, in the future you will be the masters of your country, the masters of the world. The young generation needs to rise up," said National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

'Talent develops through love of country'

The National Assembly Chairman believes that the talents of young people can be developed first thanks to their love for their country, family, and homeland, but to become young talents in any field, they must be passionate. Love is the beginning, love also comes from struggling in work. After love comes passion, determination to overcome all difficulties, obstacles, and not be afraid of failure.

The National Assembly Chairman advised that if one does not review literature, practice martial arts, or continue to strive for talent, one will not succeed. There is no path as difficult and arduous as training to become talented.

"Talents are the vitality of a nation, but are we - the young people sitting here - winning international gold medals considered talents? The more talents there are, the more prosperous the vitality of a nation. I hope that you sitting here will truly become talents, so that Vietnam is not only beautiful in nature, but also beautiful in culture...", said National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

Towards global citizenship

Before the National Assembly Chairman's speech, Do Nhat Nam (14 years old), an international student in the US, on behalf of the delegates attending the Young Talent Congress, shared his story of efforts to become a global citizen.

This boy, who is called a "child prodigy" by many, said that he wanted to study abroad since he was young to improve his knowledge and integrate into world cultures. Therefore, Nhat Nam tried to learn English well from a very early age.

This international student shared that at the age of 13, he went to the US to study and experienced many difficulties such as homesickness, nostalgia for his homeland and country. "But what helped me overcome it was my love for my homeland and the desire to prove to my friends around the world about the capabilities of the Vietnamese people."

After achieving some academic achievements, this past summer vacation, "child prodigy" Nhat Nam returned home to teach English for free to students in Hanoi.

Nam believes that "Vietnamese youth can become global citizens. Love for the Fatherland and love for peace are like shade. Under the shade of peace, young people can overcome poverty, ugliness and weakness. Vietnam is a place for young people to prove themselves and become global citizens."

Also looking at the story of global integration, young entrepreneur Dinh Thi Bich Chau - top 200 Vietnam Golden Star Award - shared that the opportunities brought by the TPP Agreement are not only for businesses, but also for the entire Vietnamese economy.

“I am aware that the TPP ticket is like a swimming ticket, sinking or winning depends on the capacity of the Vietnamese business sector and economy. We are ready to face the TPP with a relaxed mindset, fair to partners around the world,” said the young businessman.

Previously, on the morning of December 12, at Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi), the delegation of the 2nd Vietnam Young Talent Congress attended the ceremony to report achievements to Uncle Ho and visited the mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh.

The second Young Talent Congress in 2015, organized by the Central Youth Union, took place over 3 days (from December 11-13) in Hanoi, with the participation of 364 delegates. This congress honored outstanding young people who have made great contributions to society in many fields.

With the theme "Young Vietnamese talents join hands to build the country", the Congress is a message expressing the determination of young Vietnamese talents to unite, join hands, and unanimously build and protect the country in the period of international integration.
