Driver in Nghe An arrested for 'camouflaging' 250kg of firecrackers in cassava truck
The Police Department for Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy and Smuggling, Nghe An Provincial Police, has just successfully broken up a case, destroyed a transnational smuggling ring of prohibited goods (fireworks), and seized 250 kg of firecrackers.
Through the work of grasping the situation, the Police Department of Investigation of Crimes on Corruption, Economy and Smuggling discovered a number of subjects, among which emerged Luu Dinh Tuan (born in 1985), residing in Nghi Trung commune, Nghi Loc district, who showed suspicious signs related to the transportation and trading of large quantities of prohibited goods from abroad to the domestic market for consumption.

This subject operates with extremely sophisticated methods and tricks, using social networks to change communication methods, camouflage firecrackers discreetly, and frequently change means and delivery locations to deceive authorities.
The Police Department of Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy and Smuggling has established a special project to combat and eradicate. Applying flexible and synchronous professional measures, at about 4:30 p.m. on December 19, 2024, the Police Department of Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy and Smuggling presided over and coordinated with Thanh Chuong District Police to successfully break the case, arresting Luu Dinh Tuan for trading in prohibited goods and seizing 250 kg of firecrackers.

At the police station, Luu Dinh Tuan initially confessed to his illegal acts. Accordingly, under the guise of a driver transporting goods across the border, Tuan colluded with other subjects to get firecrackers to bring back to the mainland for consumption and profit. To conceal his actions, the subject disguised the firecrackers under the cargo of a cassava-carrying truck, taking advantage of his familiarity with the area to transport the firecrackers. However, Luu Dinh Tuan's illegal acts were discovered and arrested by the authorities before he could sell them.
Currently, the project is being continued to be fought and expanded.
