Driver who crashed into a series of motorbikes was detained.
Being chased by people because he did not stop to handle the accident, Hieu sped away and caused consecutive accidents.
Ba Dinh District Police said they have detained Nguyen Manh Hieu (29 years old) to investigate the series of accidents on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street.

According to the police, at around 7:30 p.m. on January 24, Hieu drove a seven-seater car from Lac Long Quan towards De La Thanh Street. On Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Hieu's car collided with a pedestrian. Without stopping to resolve the situation, the driver was chased by the people.
Hieu ran to Van Cao street and crashed into two motorbikes. On Nguyen Chi Thanh street, he continued tocollided with three motorbikes going in the same direction. The car only stopped when two motorbikes got stuck under it and blocked by a tree on the sidewalk.
Police said Hieu's blood alcohol level was determined to be 0.684 milligrams per liter of breath. He damaged five motorbikes and injured several people.
