The Government's policy vision and spirit of action with new members were affirmed right from the first meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

“Get to work right away” was Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s first request to members of the Government, and he himself immediately implemented it, by convening and chairing the first Government meeting right after the 13th National Assembly closed its last session and just one day after the apparatus was completed.

If in his first speeches after taking office, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented to the National Assembly and the people the key priorities in leadership and management, then at this first meeting, he thoroughly conveyed his policy vision and spirit of action to all members of the Government.

Briefly and clearly, the views that the head of the Government emphasized in his concluding remarks, requiring Government members to meet, will be the "guiding principle" for all activities of the Government in the coming time.

Regarding policy vision, the Prime Minister emphasized the view that "the capacity of a good Government is thanks to the building of good institutions", Government members must work with a creative spirit, focusing on proposing stronger mechanisms and policies, creating resources for development. Each member of the Government needs to have an action program, focusing on building and perfecting institutions and policies because this is a breakthrough for national development. Anything that hinders must be removed immediately, anything that benefits the people must be implemented.

In terms of action, each member of the Government must innovate in the way they work, be democratic, transparent, open, decisive, creative, dare to think, dare to do, respond to policies promptly, and avoid stagnation in the administrative apparatus. The Government needs to improve the spirit of discipline, fight formalism, and talk without doing.

The head of the Government also showed the spirit of looking straight at the truth, correctly assessing the truth, when he pointed out a series of difficulties and challenges that need to be resolved immediately. These are high public debt, drought and saltwater intrusion in many places, especially the GDP growth rate that decreased for the first time in the first quarter, while businesses are still facing many difficulties, exports and falling oil prices have had a strong impact on the economy. These are difficulties due to the cumbersome and ineffective state apparatus, along with many pressing social issues such as traffic accidents, dirty food, etc.

With such a general viewpoint, in addition to the regular tasks of socio-economic development, anti-corruption, ensuring national defense and security, the Prime Minister pointed out the urgent key tasks that are of great concern to society, and at the same time affirmed the Government's determination to thoroughly handle and resolve them, meeting the expectations of the people and the business community. For example, in April, the Prime Minister will chair a conference on business development to restore confidence, remove difficulties and support business development; a conference on food safety with relevant ministries and branches to clarify the responsibility of State management, propose fundamental and specific solutions...

"Determined, not faltering; not letting the budget run out; not letting businesses become exhausted; not letting people suffer from hunger or illness; not letting national sovereignty be violated and especially our Government not allowing corruption, negativity, and harassment to spread in society," the Prime Minister highlighted the goals, which are also the expectations of the people.

As Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized, the Party and the people are trusting and expecting the Government and its members, but with great honor comes great responsibility to the Party, the nation, and the people. The road ahead is still long and there is much work to be done, but through the first meeting of the Government, the people and the business community have clearly felt the spirit of drastic action and the vision of continuous innovation of the Government and the head of the Government. That will be an important foundation for the people to always support and unite with the Government, so that the Government can make specific, correct, and popular decisions in the coming time.
