The youngest new Professor in 2016 is from Nghe An

On November 5, at the National Convention Center, a ceremony will take place to announce the decision and award certificates to 703 teachers who met the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor (GS, PGS) in 2016.

Accordingly, in the 2016 recognition review, the whole country had 65 teachers recognized as meeting the standards for the title of Professor and 638 teachers as meeting the standards for the title of Associate Professor.

Among them, retired teacher Le Thi Chieu, born in 1947, majoring in metallurgy, is the oldest among the new professors. The oldest person recognized as meeting the standards for the title of Associate Professor is retired teacher Bui Manh Hung, born in 1950, majoring in construction.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh Nhan is the only person recognized as meeting the standards for the title of Professor of Mathematics in 2015.

The youngest person to be considered for the title of Professor in this round is Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Dinh Thang, Vinh University. Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Dinh Thang, born in 1975 in Thanh Chuong District, Nghe An Province, has worked as a lecturer at Vinh University for many years. In 2012, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor and is currently Deputy Head of the Chemistry Department - Vinh University.

The youngest person on the list of Associate Professors is teacher Tran Xuan Bach, born in 1984, majoring in Medicine, Hanoi Medical University.

In particular, in 2016, the Office of the State Council for Professor Titles recognized the title of special professor for Professor Dao Van Lap - Physics major, teaching at the Center for Optical and Quantum Sciences, Swinburne University of Technology, Australia.

The medical field has the largest number of recognized teachers with 7 people recognized as professors and 114 people recognized as associate professors. The economic field has the second largest number in the list of associate professors with 72 people recognized.

This year, the whole country has 931 candidates applying for the title of Professor and Associate Professor. Of these, 118 people applied for the title of Professor, 813 people applied for the title of Associate Professor at 107 basic Councils of Professor Titles, 250 more candidates than in 2015.

Before the ceremony to announce the decision and award the certificates of meeting the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor in 2016, the State Council for Professors will organize for the new Professors and Associate Professors to offer incense at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, then participate in a donation to support the people of the Central region who have just suffered severe consequences caused by floods.

In 2015, the Minister of Education and Training, Chairman of the State Council of Professors, signed a decision to recognize 522 teachers as meeting the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor in 2015.
