Strengthening security at medical facilities in Nghe An

On the afternoon of December 27, the Provincial Police and the Department of Health held a conference to review the implementation of the coordination regulations on ensuring security and order in the health sector.

Evaluation of coordination work shows that after 5 years of implementing the coordination regulations, the Provincial Police and the Department of Health have been proactive and done well in grasping the situation and exchanging relevant information to serve the fight against all types of crimes and violations of laws related to the health sector. During the implementation of the regulations, the two sectors have focused on directing many effective policies and solutions to ensure security and order in the health sector.

Leaders of the two sectors also pay attention to directing the coordination, prevention and effective fight against illegal activities. Cases are resolved promptly, not allowing complications to arise.

In recent times, many medical facilities have built and maintained a number of self-management models for protecting national security at medical facilities, ensuring traffic order in front of hospital gates and medical facilities in the province. In addition, the police force has effectively conducted professional training, as well as equipped the security team with necessary skills in handling situations, as well as self-defense for medical staff when facing bad situations.

At the conference, leaders of the two sectors also frankly pointed out many shortcomings and limitations such as the security force at some medical facilities not ensuring quantity and quality, the sense of responsibility is sometimes not high, especially in responding to dangerous situations. Security measures at some hospitals have not received due attention, the alarm bell system, access control of many hospitals are still sketchy....

Regarding the upcoming tasks, the two sectors have agreed and proposed a number of key tasks, including continuing to effectively maintain the movement of the entire people to protect national security, while resolutely investigating and strictly handling acts of assault, physical abuse, and insulting the honor and dignity of medical staff.

In addition, the delegates attending the conference also agreed that in the coming time, it is necessary to strengthen the exchange of information and situations related to key projects in the health sector, projects with foreign elements. Timely prevent and effectively handle violations in medical examination and treatment activities, trading in fake and poor quality drugs; violations in bidding for medical equipment... Strengthen inspection of issues related to security and order at medical facilities, activities related to private medical practice, trading in pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, food safety and hygiene....
