Strengthening the grasp of public opinion, protecting the rights of women and children

Attending the conference were Comrade Cao Thi Hien - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union; representatives of relevant departments and branches.

620 member households were helped to escape poverty.

In 2020, the women's movement and the activities of the Association closely linked the contents of emulation movements and campaigns; linked the Association's key tasks with the local political tasks, followed the annual theme, the system of targets, and breakthroughs for implementation.

The activities of the Association are increasingly practical, appropriate, meeting the needs and aspirations of women, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women and children, so cadres and members actively and unanimously respond to effectively implement the movements and tasks of the Association. The Association at all levels is proactive, flexible and creative in organizing and implementing activities and contents suitable to actual conditions, developments and responses to epidemics and natural disasters.

In 2020, the Association has promoted, mobilized, and supported women to develop comprehensively. Typically, it has supported and helped 1,065 households to achieve 8 criteria of 5 no, 3 clean; 620 households were helped to escape poverty according to multidimensional criteria. The propaganda activities to prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic have been actively and effectively implemented by the Women's Union at all levels.

The Association actively mobilizes and supports women in creative start-ups, economic development, and environmental protection; proactively exploits new programs and projects, and effectively maintains the operation of entrusted loans from banks with a total capital of 3,225 billion 933 million VND for 188,391 borrowers.

During the year, the Provincial Women's Union focused on supporting the establishment of 4 cooperatives. In addition, the Unions at all levels continued to pay attention to building 9 new cooperatives, 15 joint groups and 58 clean production/clean consumption/clean processing models.

Improve the quality of activities of grassroots organizations

At the conference, delegates also frankly pointed out the shortcomings of the past year such as: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the implementation of some Association activities was slower than planned, some activities had to be adjusted in terms of method and scale compared to the original plan. Some Association bases were still passive in the implementation method, lacking innovation and creativity in organizing activities. The implementation of the "3 clean" criteria in some remote communes with a large number of ethnic minorities and the criteria of not violating population policy in some localities was still limited.

Moving forward to 2021, the Provincial Women's Union will continue to promote propaganda, mobilization, and support for women to develop comprehensively and build happy families. Focus on propaganda, mobilization, and support for women members to achieve the dual goal of both resolutely preventing the Covid-19 epidemic and focusing on socio-economic development. Strengthen close contact with the grassroots to grasp the public opinion situation among members, emerging social issues related to women and children.

Mobilize and support women to be creative in starting businesses, developing the economy, and protecting the environment; Focus on building collective economic models, propagating and mobilizing members and women to build economic development models associated with the model of "clean production, clean processing, clean consumption".

On this occasion, the Prime Minister awarded the Emulation Flag to the Provincial Women's Union, the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Emulation Flag to the Provincial Women's Union Office, and the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 individuals with outstanding achievements. The Vietnam Women's Union awarded the Emulation Flag to the Provincial Women's Union and awarded certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement in 2020.
