Strengthen management and security protection at port gates

Decree No. 77/2017/ND-CP dated July 3, 2017 of the Government “regulating the management and protection of security and order at port gates” was issued based on the Vietnam Maritime Code, the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam, the Law on Inland Waterway Traffic as amended and supplemented, the Law on the Sea of ​​Vietnam, the Law on National Borders, the Border Guard Ordinance and related legal documents; ensuring the consistency and synchronization of the current legal system.

This is an important legal document to effectively overcome and resolve existing problems and difficulties in the past, in line with the general trend of seaports in the region and the world; it is the basis for all levels, sectors, agencies, units and functional forces to effectively perform the task of managing and protecting security and order at port gates.

At the same time, it contributes to simplifying and making administrative procedures transparent, attracting shipping lines and international tourists to Vietnamese seaports in general and Nghe An province seaports in particular.

At the conference, delegates discussed and proposed measures to implement the Decree, such as clearly identifying key areas, thereby taking appropriate measures to handle potential problems that complicate political security and social order and safety in the port gate area, and strengthening coordination between forces and localities in the construction and management of seaport gates.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant agencies, units and local authorities to do a good job of propaganda, promote the combined strength of the masses in the management and protection of security and order at the port gate.

At the same time, review the contents of the coordination regulations signed between the Provincial Border Guard and local functional forces, specialized management agencies at the port, and related enterprises in the management and protection of security and order at the port gate to supplement them to suit the new situation; regularly report to the Provincial People's Committee for monitoring and reporting./.
