Training on the ICDL international computer program for computer teachers of Nghe An province
Equipping teachers with international IT program skills aims to successfully implement the innovation plan, improve the quality of teaching and learning IT according to international standards for students in Nghe An province.
On the morning of December 14, the Department of Education and Training in collaboration with ICDL, Vietnam Electronic Books and Learning Materials Development Investment Joint Stock Company, Nghe An Books and School Equipment Joint Stock Company opened a training course on the ICDL international Informatics program for nearly 200 primary and secondary school Informatics teachers across the province.
Previously, in June 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1521/QD-UB approving the Project on capacity building.Information technologyfor high school students in Nghe An province according to international standards, period 2024 - 2030.

Through the project to improve the quality of teaching and learning of Information Technology in general schools at each level according to the 2018 General Education Program, equip students with computer skills according to international standards, helping them become global citizens.
Implementing this project, Nghe An aims for 100% of educational institutions to be equipped with enough computers, have enough teachers, and be trained according to the 2018 General Education Program and international standards; 100% of educational institutions to organize and effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program in Information Technology, with 30% of educational institutions implementing the Information Technology enhancement program according to international standards.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Dao Cong Loi - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training shared about the new features of the implementation of the Informatics subject under the new General Education Program. This is a compulsory subject for all levels of education, students will study Informatics from grade 3. In particular, the Informatics program at the primary level helps students initially get acquainted with digital technology, starting to form IT skills.
In secondary school, the subject of Information Technology helps students develop their thinking and problem-solving skills. Learning Information Technology will help students be able to use tools, equipment and software; know how to organize, store and exploit multimedia resources; create and share simple digital products to serve their studies and life.

At high school level, the IT program helps students consolidate and improve their IT skills that have been formed and developed in the basic education stage, while providing students with career-oriented knowledge in the field of IT or IT applications.
Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Dao Cong Loi also affirmed that in the period of the 4.0 industrial revolution that is exploding like today, equipping technology skills is extremely important. In Nghe An, although the subject of Informatics has been taught for many years, the quality of teaching Informatics is not high, many localities are still lacking teachers and teaching equipment. Teaching Informatics has not met the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program.

Through this program, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training requested that teachers need to uphold their responsibility during the training course with the "dual" task of improving their capacity and completing the exam to obtain an international IT certificate.
From there, it will help teachers gain more skills and knowledge to serve teaching work at the grassroots level. Teachers participating in the training course will also be the first to spread new teaching methods and new programs to the IT teachers in the whole province and train many students with skills and passion for technology, as human resources for the future.

In the program, Mr. Diep Xuan Tuan Anh - representative of the ICDL Organization's operating unit in Vietnam shared about the ICDL International Informatics program with the goal of popularizing IT skills for the whole society in many different fields.
For teachers, ICDL hopes that the implementation of the international curriculum will help teachers gain more knowledge, skills and experience in teaching as well as effective methods of approaching students in the subject of Information Technology. Previously, the training program for high school teachers was positively evaluated and achieved the set goals.

ICDL representatives will also commit to accompany Nghe An Books and School Equipment Joint Stock Company to deploy the ICDL Program extensively and qualitatively to schools in Nghe An province, including primary, secondary and high schools. This is to contribute to the effective implementation of the project's objectives.
