Focus on repairing landslides in Ky Son
(Baonghean.vn) - Due to the impact of floods from August to October 2023, Ky Son district still has landslides on negative and positive slopes. Currently, localities are actively overcoming them to ensure traffic safety.

According to observations, National Highway 16 section to Pha Danh commune, Ky Son district currently has some sections that are damaged.landslide, soil and rocks buried in the road. The traffic management unit is using mechanical means to actively level the landslide to ensure traffic safety on the route. Also on this route, some sections through Pha Danh and Huoi Tu communes have appeared with negative slope landslides located at steep passes and deep ravines, damaging the entire railing system.
Along Highway 7, there are 2 locations with negative slope landslides, of which, the negative slope landslide in Huu Kiem commune (Ky Son) is about 20 meters long, the crack caused the rock embankment to collapse down to the Nam Mo river bank, damaging and breaking the entire railing system.

Ms. Vi Thi Noi - a resident of Huu Kiem commune said: Landslides along streams and creeks need to be repaired soon so that people can travel safely. Because this is a steep, winding road, there are many potential risks of traffic accidents.
Mr. Vi Van Son - Head of Economic - Infrastructure Department of Ky Son district said: Due to the impact of the rains from October 2023, many communes in Ky Son district have suffered landslides and landslides on roads, such as the road from Muong Xen town to Tay Son commune was affected during the flood season in 2022 and 2023.
The district has mobilized machinery to temporarily fix the problem, however, along the entire 12km route, there are over 30 large and small landslides that have not been completely fixed. There are still cases of soil and rocks sliding down the road, threatening the lives of road users. Currently, Ky Son district is submitting 40 billion VND to the Provincial People's Committee to fix this route.

Also during the rains from October 2023, the road to Huu Lap and Bao Nam communes, nearly 50 km long, had more than 20 serious landslides. Up to now, the district has only temporarily repaired them. Ky Son district is submitting to the provincial People's Committee for support of 19 billion VND to repair landslides to ensure traffic safety.
According to the report of the Economic - Infrastructure Department of Ky Son district, in addition to the damaged district roads, National Highway 7, National Highway 16, Provincial Road 543, Provincial Road 543D (managed by the Department of Transport) were also damaged, landslides, rocks in some locations. Although investors and road management units have carried out leveling, overcoming, and repairing, however, currently, some locations still have landslides, rocks, causing traffic safety risks for people and vehicles passing by.

Recently, the People's Committee of Ky Son district has issued an official dispatch requesting the Department of Transport and management units, Road Management Area II, Khanh Hung Construction and Management Joint Stock Company, Trung Tin Joint Stock Company and Joint Stock Company 495 to install landslide warning signs at landslide locations and locations at risk of landslides to ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles passing by.
Organize and mobilize the unit's vehicles and machinery to level soil and rocks at landslide locations on the roads under its management to ensure smooth and safe traffic. For locations with high slopes and landslide risks that pose a danger to people and vehicles, it is recommended to take measures to handle the slopes and arrange for regular guards.
