Fishing boat in distress, 14 Nghe An fishermen need urgent rescue
(Baonghean.vn) - While operating in the sea bordering Nghe An and Thanh Hoa, about 57 nautical miles from shore, a fishing boat with 14 fishermen on board encountered an accident and requested emergency rescue.
At 1:22 p.m. on December 16, a fishing boat with license plate number NA 90942TS and 14 crew members, captained by Mr. Vu Long Hai, residing in Phu Lien hamlet, Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu district (Nghe An), was operating at sea, in the border area between Thanh Hoa and Nghe An when its engine broke down. Despite every effort to repair it, it could not be fixed. The boat was drifting and in danger of sinking; the captain requested an urgent rescue.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Nghe An Border Guard Command directed the coastal border units, in coordination with local authorities, to notify the vehicle owners and vessels operating near the area of the distressed vessel to come to the rescue, using the Border Guard's information network to maintain contact with the distressed fishing vessel. At the same time, mobilized a force of 15 officers and soldiers from Squadron 2 and rescue ship CN09 to go on the rescue.
It is expected that at around 4:00 p.m. on December 18, the rescue ship will approach the distressed vehicle and carry out rescue work and tow the distressed vessel to Lach Quen fishing port, Quynh Luu district./.
