Vietnam's most modern Coast Guard ship officially launched
On November 30, the launching ceremony of Coast Guard ship 8005 took place in Da Nang city, witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Coast Guard Ship 8005 is the second ship in the DN2000 multi-purpose ship series newly built by Song Thu Corporation, with an advanced, modern design that fully meets international standards transferred by the Dutch Damen Group.
The ship's functions include patrolling to protect sovereignty over seas and islands, enforcing laws in seas and continental shelves; searching and rescuing in Vietnamese and international waters, rescuing ships in distress...
The ship has a displacement of up to 2,400 tons. Transport troops, provide logistical support for forces operating on islands, and perform other assigned tasks.
The ship operates in Vietnam's seas and continental shelf with unlimited range, in wind conditions of level 12, continuous operating time at sea for 40 days and nights, range of 5000 nautical miles.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that this important event continues to mark a new development step for the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Vietnamese defense industry.

The Deputy Prime Minister directed the Coast Guard to continuously improve the quality of training and practice combat plans; coordinate with the Navy to maintain its core role at sea; coordinate with other forces and the people of the whole country in protecting the sovereignty of the sea, islands, continental shelf, protecting national interests, protecting fishermen at sea and economic interests at sea; grasp countermeasures, flexibly handle situations occurring at sea; manage and maintain security at sea in accordance with Vietnamese and international laws.
