Nghe An boats urgently take shelter from low pressure

(Baonghean.vn) - To avoid the tropical depression, many fishing boats of Nghe An have now safely docked.

Although it is forecasted that storm No. 11 will not make landfall directly in Nghe An, on the morning of October 16, the Flood and Storm Prevention Command of Hoang Mai Town still issued a telegram requesting units to urgently deploy response solutions.

Accordingly, localities were requested to inform boat owners of the location and direction of storm No. 11 so that they could proactively avoid, escape or not enter dangerous areas; prohibit boats from going to sea from 7:00 a.m. on October 16; urgently call for and guide boats to safe shelters.

According to the town's report, up to now, 100% of Hoang Mai town's boats are almost at the shore. Quynh Phuong ward alone has 200 boats with a capacity of over 90 CV that have been at the port for nearly 2 weeks. In Quynh Lap commune, 150 boats with a capacity of over 90 CV have stopped going to sea since the beginning of October. Only a few small boats go fishing close to shore.

Quynh Luu Districtalso directed coastal communes to notify fishermen at sea to urgently return to port to anchor; strictly prohibit boats from going out to sea to fish when the weather is unfavorable.

Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station assigned officers to monitor the area to check the situation of fishermen going out to sea to fish; propagate response methods as well as ensure the safety of assets on board.

By the morning of October 16, all 1,193 fishing boats of fishermen from the communes of Quynh Long, Quynh Thuan, Tien Thuy, Son Hai, Quynh Nghia... were safely docked and anchored at the two estuaries of Lach Quen and Lach Thoi.

In Dien Chau district and Cua Lo town, boats have also returned to safe shelters.
