New rural area assessment in 2 communes of Yen Thanh

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 21, the New Rural Area Appraisal Council of Nghe An provinceCheck and evaluate the criteria for building new rural areas in Vinh Thanh and Bao Thanh communes (Yen Thanh).

Although not registered to finish this year, Vinh Thanh and Bao Thanh communes have issued resolutions and action programs to implement according to the roadmap.

In Vinh Thanh commune, after 7 years of implementing the national target program on new rural construction, 18/19 criteria have been completed (market criteria adjusted for planning in the period 2020 - 2025); The whole commune has mobilized more than 378.5 billion VND, of which capital contributed by the people is over 257 billion VND to build rural infrastructure.

Up to now, the whole commune has paved and concreted more than 18.1 km of commune and inter-commune roads and hardened and concreted more than 30 km of hamlet roads; solidified 16.1 km of canals, 100% of agricultural land area has been actively irrigated. Average income per capita in 2017 reached 26 million VND; the face of the countryside is improving day by day.

Through inspection and assessment, the delegation recommended that the locality should soon complete the remaining aspects of planning, cultural institutions, and environmental sanitation before submitting to the Provincial People's Committee Chairman for approval to recognize the commune as meeting NTM standards.

In Bao Thanh commune, thanks to the efforts of the Party Committee, the government and the consensus of the people, 19/19 criteria have been completed so far. The total resources for building new rural areas of the whole commune reached nearly 220 billion VND, of which the people contributed over 60%.

The economic restructuring in the right direction has brought a fairly good growth rate, the average income per capita in 2017 reached over 33 million VND/person/year. Notably, Bao Thanh commune has mobilized the entire political system to participate, creating consensus among the people; 100% of the commune roads are basically asphalted; over 80% of the hamlet roads are asphalted and concreted. Cultural institutions, schools, and medical stations are all invested to meet standards.

The provincial appraisal team assessed that Bao Thanh commune basically met the prescribed criteria. However, the commune also needs to promote internal resources to improve cultural and environmental criteria; school facilities. The appraisal council agreed to submit to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to recognize Bao Thanh commune as meeting the NTM standards in 2017./.
