(Baonghean.vn) - This is an activity aimed at encouraging and sharing difficulties with lonely people without support, the elderly, disabled, orphans, mentally ill, seriously ill, abandoned... in the province.

On the afternoon of May 15, a volunteer group from Phuc My Pagoda, Yen Son Commune, Do Luong District, in coordination with the Internal Security Department (Provincial Police), Do Luong District Police visited and presented gifts at the Provincial Social Protection Center, Giang Son Dong Commune, Do Luong District.

Here, Venerable Thich Hue Phong (abbot of Phuc My Pagoda) along with representatives of the police forces of the two units and benefactors and donors kindly visited, encouraged and shared difficulties with the Center and the individuals and circumstances being cared for and nurtured here.

In particular, with the aim of sharing difficulties with the Center and its staff, the delegation directly presented gifts including 2 water purifiers, 20 household fans and 1 water pump worth about 40 million VND.

The gifts were donated from the temple's fund mobilized from benefactors and businesses in Do Luong district and surrounding areas. This is also a regular activity of monks, nuns and Buddhists of the temple in recent years with the desire to share with the Party Committee, government and functional agencies in implementing social security and protection policies.

It is known that the Provincial Social Protection Center is currently managing and caring for 145 people, including 10 elderly people, 02 children and 133 mentally disabled people. The subjects are mainly lonely people, without relatives... and 90% of them have especially severe mental illnesses, many of whom are bedridden and no longer able to be self-sufficient, often needing care./.
