Prosecution and arrest of 2 market management officers in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - The police determined that these two officers had abused their positions and powers to appropriate property when they received 6 million VND from Mr. Vi Van Hung, a herbal medicine practitioner.

On December 4, 2018, three people dressed as market management officers came to Mr. Vi Van Hung's house, introducing themselves as officers of Market Management Team No. 8 - under the Market Management Department of Nghe An province, and proceeded to inspect his practice of traditional medicine and pharmacy. During the process, these three people asked Mr. Hung to pay 6,000,000 VND (six million VND) to avoid handling the violation.

Thanh Chuong District Police Investigation Agency conducted initial verification and investigation and handled the case according to the provisions of Joint Circular No. 01/2017 on handling crime reports and denunciations, and recommending prosecution for this case.
The investigation determined:
1.Truong Van Cuong, born on June 21, 1984, occupation: Market Inspector, residence: Block 2, Thu Thuy Ward, Cua Lo Town, Nghe An.
2.Vo Thanh Vinh, born on July 4, 1986, occupation: Market Inspector, residence: Lien Co block, Hung Binh ward, Vinh city, Nghe An.
3.Nguyen Thanh Thuy, born in 1979, occupation: driver, residence: block 9, Doi Cung ward, Vinh city, Nghe An.
On the morning of December 4, 2018, using a Mitsubishi car with blue license plate 37A-003.43, he went to Mr. Vi Van Hung's house to inspect Mr. Hung's medical and pharmaceutical business.When they arrived, all three people went to meet Mr. Hung. Truong Van Cuong took out his card and introduced them as market management force.

On January 18, 2019, the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Chuong District Police issued Decision No. 21 to prosecute the case of "Abusing position and power to appropriate property" and Decisions to prosecute the accused No. 26 against Vo Thanh Vinh and No. 27 against Truong Van Cuong for the above crime prescribed in Article 355 of the Penal Code, and at the same time applied the preventive measure of temporary detention for a period of 4 months against the two accused to serve the investigation of the case.
The decisions to prosecute and detain the accused have been approved by the People's Procuracy of Thanh Chuong district.
