Thanh Chuong focuses on producing 4,000 hectares of summer-autumn crops
(Baonghean.vn) - According to this year's summer-autumn crop production plan, Thanh Chuong district plans to plant 4,000 hectares of various crops and vegetables.
Of which, there are 1,500 hectares of corn, 2,000 hectares of beans, 200 hectares of peanuts and 350 hectares of vegetables. The corn will use short-term and drought-resistant hybrid varieties, including: DK6919, DK9901, PAC 999, NK66, CP888, waxy corn varieties MX2, MX4, mainly arranged on low-lying alluvial lands.

Soybean varieties used include: DT84, DT99, DT12, arranged on alluvial and copper soils. Green bean uses DX 208 variety, arranged on alluvial and copper soils. Peanuts use L14, L20 and San dau 30 varieties, planted with plastic cover on high fertile soil areas that are less prone to flooding. Cucumbers and watermelons are grown on fertile soil, high fertile soils with drainage and completely self-irrigation.
To ensure the planting season, right after the spring harvest, people rushed to the fields to plant and sow. With the support of machinery and equipment to speed up the progress, people are striving to complete the summer-autumn vegetable production by June 30.
