Speaking at the conference, Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa added: Nghe An is identified as one of the key areas for human trafficking, mainly women and children, across the border. Along with that, some gender stereotypes still exist in society, especially domestic violence and child sexual abuse still occur in some places.
Another summary of the cultural sector also shows that in 2019, the whole province had 429 cases of domestic violence and more than 4,500 divorces. In addition, there were 14 cases of child sexual abuse and 180 cases of children being victims of early marriage or incestuous marriage.

At the same time, help improve community awareness and attitudes about violence against women and children through communication campaigns in communities and schools./.
