The General Department of Customs has just issued Document No. 155/TCHQ-TVQH to the Ministry of Finance regarding the liquidation of 27 specialized vehicles and 25 vehicles serving general work of the customs sector.

The proceeds from this sale were over VND5.8 billion, equivalent to an average price of over VND116.1 million/vehicle. The General Department of Customs said that the amount paid to the state budget was VND5.48 billion and no additional money was paid to the career development fund. All vehicles had been decided to be liquidated since May 2016 and no later than February 2017.

Accordingly, the General Department of Customs sold 50/52 vehicles at the lowest price of 16 million VND/vehicle and the highest price of more than 240 million VND/vehicle.

The cars for sale, this time from brands such as Mitsubishi, Ford, Toyota, Daewoo, Zace, Viots... are used for about 13-21 years or nearly 300,000 km.

The car with the lowest liquidation price of 16 million VND is UAZ type 31514 used by Thua Thien Hue Customs Department since 2005 and has traveled 265,460 km, with an original price of 249.56 million VND.

In addition, some of the liquidated vehicles are a 2003 Ford of the Ha Tinh Provincial Customs Department, with a purchase price of about 630 million VND and a sale price of 45 million VND; two Mitsubishi vehicles of the Dien Bien Provincial Customs Department with a purchase price of more than 560 million VND/vehicle, and a sale price of only about 46 million VND/vehicle. A 2004 Mitsubishi vehicle of the Nghe An Provincial Customs Department with a price of 971 million VND and a liquidation price of more than 243 million VND; a 2001 Toyota vehicle of the Ca Mau Provincial Customs Department with a purchase price of 480 million VND and a liquidation price of only 117 million VND.

Currently, the General Department of Customs said that there are still 2 vehicles serving general work that have not been liquidated according to the decision of the Ministry of Finance because the documents of the 2 vehicles are no longer complete, and the ownership transfer to the buyer for use and circulation of the vehicles according to the provisions of law. The General Department is coordinating with the relevant archives department to find the documents of these vehicles and is expected to complete the liquidation of the vehicles in the first quarter of 2018.

Regarding the 27 specialized vehicles, the General Department of Customs said that these vehicles are used for anti-smuggling, anti-drug, customs patrol and supervision tasks and mostly operate in mountainous, remote and isolated areas. All vehicles were damaged, requiring large repair costs and were ineffective. In 2015, the Ministry of Finance approved the equipment and replacement of the heads of these 27 specialized vehicles.
