14-year-old opens fire at US school

(Baonghean.vn) - Authorities said four students were injured after a shooting on March 1 at the cafeteria at Madison Middle School in Middletown, Ohio.

Police Chief Richard Jones said two of the victims were shot and two others were wounded by shrapnel from the gun. All four victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.

Police also said they had arrested the suspect in the horrific shooting right outside the scene.

The gunman, 14-year-old James Austin Hancock, faces charges of attempted murder, causing panic and committing acts of terrorism, Sheriff Jones said.

The motive for the incident is under investigation by police, however, Mr Jones refused to say whether the shooting was intentional or not.

The shooting at Madison High School has raised concerns about gun laws in the United States.

Zayd Ahmed, a witness, said he was extremely surprised that the perpetrator was only a 14-year-old boy and could use a gun so easily.

Sheriff Jones said the number of school shootings is increasing and warned people to adapt and be ready for similar situations to occur./.
