On August 28, the Criminal Police Department of Can Tho City Police temporarily detained Nguyen Van Tuoi (26 years old, residing in Kien Giang) to investigate the act of extortion.

Tuoi confessed that 4 months ago he had a relationship with Ms. Hoa in Phong Dien district, Can Tho city. During the nights at the hotel, he used his phone to take pictures of his lover naked while she was sleeping.

When he discovered that Hoa had a new boyfriend, Tuoi used his Facebook account to send her nude photos to his "rival". On August 16, he continued to use his Zalo account to send Hoa 3 "hot" photos of the two of them, asking for "love" or he would make a big deal out of it.

With no other choice, the next day Hoa agreed to rent a motel room with Tuoi for the night. After having sex, Hoa deleted all the sensitive images from Tuoi's phone. She didn't know he still had those images saved on the memory card.

Nearly a week later, Tuoi sent Hoa old photos, asking for 100 million VND to destroy them all. Because the amount was too large, Hoa could not afford it, so Tuoi set a condition that she would pay in installments and when she had paid enough, she would delete all the photos.

On the evening of August 27, while Tuoi was receiving 10 million VND from a girl at a coffee shop in Ninh Kieu district, he was arrested by the police.
