(Baonghean.vn) - With the strength of youth and the effort to overcome difficulties and become rich on their homeland, in recent years, in the border district of Ky Son, many economic development models led by young people have appeared, bringing high economic efficiency, contributing to hunger eradication, poverty reduction and new rural construction in the locality.

Born into a poor family with difficult economic circumstances, young man Vi Van Tien in Na Khuong village, Na Loi commune understands the suffering of poverty, so right after finishing high school, Tien returned to his hometown to develop the economy.

Vi Van Tien shared: Realizing that the natural terrain of Na Khuong village is mainly steep hills, very suitable for developing large livestock farming, especially goats and cows. In 2008, he boldly borrowed capital from the policy bank, and with the help of relatives and people in the village, he invested in breeding goats for reproduction.

With his industrious and hard-working nature, he actively researched and learned experiences in raising livestock from previous livestock models and applied scientific and technical advances. Thanks to that, Mr. Tien now has a farm of over 40 cows, 50 goats, and more than 20 pigs, earning from 90 to 110 million VND each year.

Meanwhile, the union members Vi May Cang and Luong Thi Hong in Khe Tang, Chieu Luu commune, have risen above poverty and become rich by raising pigs. In the early days of starting their business, the young couple had to save every penny to invest in raising pigs. At first, due to lack of experience, all the pigs died of an epidemic, causing their assets to be wiped out.

Not discouraged, the couple boldly borrowed 15 million VND from the policy bank to start over. In addition to raising pigs, the couple also raised breeding cows. Thanks to the lesson of the first failure, the couple learned a lot of experience, so up to now, their livestock model has brought in an annual income of 80-100 million VND.

Above are two typical models of union members and young people who are good at business, escape poverty, and become rich in Ky Son district. Currently, this model is increasingly being replicated in many localities. Among them, there are many people who are very young but have the will and determination to become rich, build models of farms, family farms, transportation services... with an annual income of 50 million VND or more. Contributing greatly to the work of hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and new rural construction in the remote mountainous border district of Ky Son.

Mr. Chu Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of Ky Son District Youth Union shared: "The youth movement to participate in economic development is one of the contents that the district Youth Union Standing Committee has focused on directing, and through practical implementation from the grassroots level, it has achieved some remarkable results. Through a survey at 10 commune youth union units, there have been 27 youth economic development models. The results it brings not only help to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty for union members, youth, ... more importantly, it makes the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement in Ky Son have many improvements, especially the emulation movements.

There are still not many examples and models of union members and young people who are good at production and business in the poor border district of Ky Son. Hopefully, in the coming time, more investment and replication will be needed to contribute to the work of hunger eradication, poverty reduction and new rural construction in Ky Son district.
