Young man strangles 81-year-old woman for being scolded for 'rude talk'

Being scolded and beaten with a wooden stick by an old woman for "speaking rudely", a young man rushed in to control and strangle the victim to death.

On February 2, Tran Minh Hiep (Chin Ngon) was prosecuted by Khanh Hoa Provincial Police for Murder. The 27-year-old suspect was arrested after murdering Ms. Truong Thi Bot (81 years old) more than 8 months ago.

According to the investigation, after a drinking party with a group of friends in June 2016, Hiep wore a dark shirt and a mask and ran around. When he arrived at Van Luong commune, Van Ninh district, he saw a hammock in front of Mrs. Bot's house, and there were no people around, so he went in to rest.

When he looked through the crack of the door and saw the homeowner sleeping in bed, Hiep went in to wake her up and chat with her, then criticized the old woman for wearing old clothes. "When you stop wearing them, let me bring them home to make a bed for the dog," the young man teased.

Believing that the young man was "rude", Mrs. Bot scolded and then hit him with a stick but was restrained by Hiep. The victim struggled and was strangled to death. After committing the crime, he left but later returned to take the wallet and erase the traces of the crime scene.

In the afternoon, the daughter discovered her adoptive mother lying motionless on the bed, bleeding from her mouth and nose, and with many injuries and bruises on her body.

"While the family was holding the victim's funeral, Hiep came and went to listen for information, then when he learned he was being sought, he fled," said the investigator./.
