Ho Chi Minh City cooperates in development with 9 localities in the North and North Central regions
On the morning of October 2, in Ho Chi Minh City, a conference was held to review the implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Cooperation Agreement between Ho Chi Minh City and 9 Northern and North Central provinces for the period 2023-2024 and the Implementation Plan for the period 2024-2025.
The conference attracted 180 delegates, including representatives from departments, branches and sectors of Ho Chi Minh City, provinces and cities in the North and North Central regions, central ministries and sectors, and businesses.
Attending the conference were comrade Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; leaders of the People's Committee, departments, branches, and enterprises of 9 provinces. On the side of Nghe An province, there was comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, units, and enterprises.

The conference aims to summarize and evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of Plan No. 4778/KH-UBND dated September 26, 2023 of the City People's Committee on implementing the Agreement on socio-economic development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and a number of localities in the North and North Central region in 2023 and the period 2024 - 2025. At the same time, it provides orientation, builds and unifies the Plan for socio-economic development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and a number of localities in the North and North Central region in the period 2024 - 2025.

In her opening speech to welcome the conference, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy affirmed that in recent years, Ho Chi Minh City, together with 9 provinces and cities in the North and North Central regions, has signed and implemented many cooperation programs, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in localities in many aspects such as trade; industry; agriculture; investment cooperation promotion; tourism; health; education and training; science and technology; information and communication; culture, sports; etc. Thereby, making a certain contribution to the overall development of the whole country.
At the conference, delegates also discussed the implementation of Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW and Resolution No. 168/NQ-CP of the Government, with the goal of developing the North Central and Central Coast regions by 2030, with a vision to 2045. Solutions on digital economic development, green transformation and building new development models were emphasized to meet the requirements of development and integration in the new era.

In the coming period, the conference outlined key tasks to strengthen connectivity between localities. Plans include boosting trade promotion, expanding supply chains, and promoting local products in Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, cooperation in science and technology, digital transformation and sustainable development was also emphasized, especially in the context of climate change becoming a global challenge.
Ho Chi Minh City pledges to continue to accompany the provinces and cities in the North and North Central regions, implementing extensive cooperation activities to maximize the potential of each locality. At the same time, the city will step up support for businesses, creating favorable conditions for the provinces to develop, expand markets and cooperate in many fields.

With close guidance from authorities at all levels and consensus from businesses, the conference hopes that the new phase of cooperation will bring about many important achievements, contributing to promoting sustainable socio-economic development for the whole region.
