Removing difficulties for tourism businesses affected by Covid-19
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has just directed relevant ministries and branches to promptly remove difficulties for businesses operating in the tourism sector affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.
Before the heavy impact ofCovid-19 pandemicThe Government has issued many policies to support businesses in general and tourism businesses in particular to overcome difficulties and maintain operations. However, as one of the most severely damaged industries, tourism businesses, mainly small and medium-sized enterprises, are still facing many difficulties as the pandemic continues to be complicated.
Faced with the above difficulties, a number of authorities (Vietnam Tourism Association, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism...) have proposed to the Prime Minister a number of mechanisms, policies and solutions to remove difficulties and support tourism businesses such as: Consider reducing VAT, reducing special consumption tax, reducing land rent and extending tax payment...
After reviewing the recommendations of relevant ministries and branches, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to study and propose mechanisms, policies and urgent solutions to support and remove difficulties caused by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the tourism industry; synthesize and report to the Prime Minister in the second quarter of 2021.

Recently, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has sent a report to the Prime Minister. After reviewing the report and recommendations of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam assigned the ministries and agencies: Culture, Sports and Tourism, Industry and Trade, Finance, Health, Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and the State Bank of Vietnam based on their assigned functions and tasks to study the recommendations of the Ministry of Planning and Investment to handle according to their authority or report to competent authorities for handling according to regulations; promptly remove difficulties for businesses operating in the tourism sector affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.
