Strengthening cooperation between the Central Youth Unions of Vietnam and Laos

(Baonghean.vn) - Exchanging experiences in youth union work and youth movements was the main content of the discussion between the Central Youth Unions of Vietnam and Laos held on the afternoon of December 21 in Nghe An.

The discussion was chaired by comrades: Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Secondary School Youth Union; comrade A Lun Xay Sun Na Lat - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union.

Also attending were leaders of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union and heads and deputy heads of departments of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union; and a number of Lao students studying in Nghe An.

Overview of the seminar.

Speaking at the seminar, comrade Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Junior High School Youth Union affirmed that the relationship between Laos and Vietnam is a special relationship and a responsibility of the young generations of the two countries, highlighting the special solidarity and friendship. During the recent visit and working visit to Laos by the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong also showed much affection and concern for the development of Lao youth and the cooperation between the Youth Union organizations of the two countries.

In 2017, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union will organize congresses at all levels. It is known that the Lao Central Youth Union has many good models, practices, and movements; it is hoped that from the practical work of the two countries, through the recent meaningful practical activities, the youth organizations of the two countries will exchange with each other about good models and new practices that both sides find satisfactory in order to jointly build the youth movement, youth work, and many other movements for mutual development.

The Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union also pointed out the difficulties and obstacles from the practical activities of each side, from which he made recommendations and suggestions for mutual development. Regarding Nghe An province, which has a border with 3 provinces of Laos, the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union suggested that the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union have exchanges, comments and actively support the cooperative relationship between the two Youth Unions to achieve many good results.

With the spirit of youth volunteers, we hope that delegates from both sides will openly and frankly exchange experiences in the spirit of learning, which can then be turned into practical activities, serving the increasingly effective development of the two countries' delegations.

Comrade A Lun Xay Sun Na Lat expressed his thanks to the Central Youth Union and Nghe An province for their attention and creating conditions for the working delegation to visit and learn about economic models of the province's youth, to meet and pay a courtesy visit to the Provincial Party Secretary and to receive the good feelings of the leaders of Nghe An province.

Comrade A Lun Xay Sun Na Lat expressed his hope that through this discussion, he would learn about the difficulties and obstacles in youth activities of the two countries in terms of development strategies as well as organizing youth movements, contributing to promoting economic development of each country.

At the same time, answer some of the issues that the delegation wants to learn, including the issue of attracting youth and children to the union's movement activities; how to attract youth when information technology is increasingly developing; how to educate youth and union members to together preserve the heritages that previous generations of the two countries have built and preserved.

Regarding the organizational structure, how can we improve the working efficiency of the Youth Union? How can the youth movement be organized to suit the socio-economic development of the country and the development psychology of modern youth?

"The activities of the Vietnamese Youth Volunteers have made many contributions to the country's development. We want to learn from this and apply it to our country," said comrade A Lun Xay Sun Na Lat, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union.

At the seminar, the two delegations divided into two discussion groups, exchanging experiences and cooperation contents between the youth unions of the two countries for implementation in the coming time. Group 1 discussed contents on school work, movements, propaganda, and youth solidarity; Group 2 discussed contents on organization, inspection, and office work.

Concluding the discussion, comradeLun Xay Sun Na Lathighly appreciated the working session between the two sides' union cadre groups in the spirit of solidarity and learning. The contents discussed were quite profound and practical, especially on the union organization structure, union cadre training, management of grassroots union chapters...

Through the exchange, it was shown that the organization and activities of the two sides have both common points and differences, need to learn, exchange actively and hope to receive more help from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Secondary School Youth Union presented souvenirs to the working delegation of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Youth Union.

He also informed that the two sides had discussed cooperation plans between the two central youth unions in 2017. These included activities: Organizing meetings between young entrepreneurs and youth union members of both sides; organizing movements to promote solidarity between the two nations; the Lao Central Youth Union will promote the Lao Young Entrepreneurs Association to invest in Vietnam; using press information to promote cooperation activities; promoting grassroots youth movement activities in Lao provinces bordering Nghe An.

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Luong emphasized that the goal of the propaganda and cooperation between the two countries' delegations is not only to comprehensively educate and train knowledge and skills for youth union members and the young generation of the two countries, but also to propagate to the people of the two countries about the special friendship between the two nations.
