Teacher suspected of murdering old woman, kidnapping lover's child

After discovering her mother was murdered and stuffed in a sack, and her 4-year-old son missing, a woman in Vinh Phuc reported to the police and discovered the suspect was an elementary school teacher.

On the morning of April 23, Lap Thach District Police, Vinh Phuc coordinated with the Criminal Police Department to arrest Tran Xuan Thu (54 years old), a primary school teacher in the area, to investigate the act of murder.

Earlier, on the morning of April 22, Ms. Nhung (32 years old) in Van Truc commune, Lap Thach district went to the commune police station to report that her mother, Ms. Tan (71 years old), and her son, Tinh (4 years old), were missing.

At 6am, seeing a suspicious pineapple sack in the corner of her pigsty, Ms. Nhung reported it to the police. Upon arriving at the scene, the police discovered Ms. Tan's body in a sitting position with multiple injuries to her head.

People's Police reported that after more than a day of investigation, at nearly 10:00 a.m. on April 23, the police arrested suspect Thu in Lap Thach town (Lap Thach district) and safely rescued the 4-year-old boy while he was being taken into a taxi by Thu.

After divorcing her husband, Ms. Nhung lived with Thu as husband and wife. The 4-year-old boy is Ms. Nhung's stepchild.

Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
