Gambling teacher cheated money from 2 female colleagues

LoseIn a scandal, a male teacher at a middle school in Hanoi embezzled hundreds of millions of dong from his colleagues and acquaintances by tricking them into transferring schools and getting a permanent position.

The Hanoi Police Investigation Agency has just received the case of Fraudulent appropriation of property handed over by the Ba Dinh District Police to investigate and handle according to its authority. The suspect of the case, Tran Thanh Manh Huan (28 years old, living in Hanoi), has been detained by the investigation agency.

According to the authorities, Huan is a teacher at a secondary school in Hanoi. Three years ago, he was hired by Mrs. Nguyen Thu Nga (in Ba Dinh district) to tutor her grandchild.

In early 2016, knowing that Mrs. Nga wanted to get her grandson into a high school near her home, Huan said he knew some officials from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. These people could intervene to get Mrs. Nga’s grandson into 10th grade for 170 million VND.

After receiving the money, Huan did not come to tutor and cut off contact with the victim. When Nga's grandson took the junior high school graduation exam, he registered to attend Nguyen Trai High School but failed.

Receiving the complaint, Ba Dinh District Police determined that due to his gambling addiction, Huan fell into debt. In a desperate situation, the male teacher came up with the idea of ​​defrauding acquaintances. Before taking 170 million VND from Ms. Nga, Huan had appropriated money from 2 colleagues by tricking them into "running" for official positions.

According to the investigation results, a year ago, Huan received 200 million VND to "help" Huong (a contract teacher in Nam Tu Liem district) pass the civil service exam. Following the instructions but the exam results were not as expected, the victim went to meet Huan and found out that he had spent all 200 million VND and was unable to pay.

At the same time, Huan saw that Ms. Tran Thai Ha, a teacher in Dong Da district, wanted to transfer her job to Ba Dinh district, so he approached her. Holding her documents and 320 million VND from her female colleague, the suspect promised to help Ms. Ha transfer her school within half a year.

However, by the time he was arrested, Huan had spent all the money, while Ms. Ha was still working at the old agency.
