(Baonghean.vn) - After a day of rest, the Vietnamese team returned to training on the evening of June 2 in Dubai. For this training session, coach Park Hang-seo decided to move the time up 1 hour, to 7:00 p.m. (10:00 p.m., Vietnam time).

Because the training was early, the weather was still quite hot. Coach Park Hang-seo and his assistants were busy preparing training equipment for the players. The Korean strategist even moved and pulled the goalpost to the right position. However, after only a few minutes, the captainVietnam teamgave up because too tired.

Currently, no Vietnamese players have to practice separately. Previously, Van Toan, Xuan Truong and some players were injured in the friendly match with Jordan, but all have recovered.

On June 3, instead of practicing at night as usual, the Vietnamese team in the UAE went to the training ground at 7am local time (10am Vietnam time). At noon the same day, the team changed hotels from Swissotel Al Murooj to Crowne Plaza Dubai - Festival City as arranged by the Organizing Committee. The whole team stayed there until June 16.

As planned, on the evening of June 3,Coach Park Hang-seoThe coaching team is expected to be divided into two groups to "scout" the opponents in Group G: the two matches UAE - Malaysia, Thailand - Indonesia, both taking place at 20:45 (23:45, Vietnam time).

Before the training session on the evening of June 2, goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong shared with the media that he does not care about the past, but only cares about what he can do in the next three matches to help the Vietnamese team.

"It's not good to say it in advance, but watch me perform. Believe in me. I will try to make everyone believe in me," Bui Tan Truong shared before the practice session on the evening of June 2.

According to the original plan,Goalkeeper Dang Van Lamwill fly to UAE on June 2 to join the team. However, due to a case of Covid-19 infection at Cerezo Osaka Club, Coach Park Hang-seo agreed to let Van Lam stay in Japan, to ensure the safety of the team before the last 3 matches of Group G.

Vietnam therefore has three goalkeepers left: Nguyen Van Toan, Bui Tan Truong (middle) and Nguyen Van Hoang. Among them, Tan Truong (35 years old) is considered a strong candidate for the number one goalkeeper position because he has all the factors of physique, experience and form.

However, Tan Truong was once stereotyped as a sinner of Vietnamese football. Typical examples include the goal conceded in the 2009 SEA Games final against Malaysia, or the team's 0-2 defeat against this opponent in the first leg of the AFF Cup semi-final at Bukit Jalil Stadium in 2010.

A few days ago, on the Asian Football Confederation's homepage, there was a video titled "From Hero to Zero", recording the scene where Tan Truong saved a penalty kick but then punched the ball into the net in the match where Binh Duong lost to FC Tokyo in the group stage of the 2016 AFC Champions League.

Talking about previous mistakes, Tan Truong said: "That is the past, I don't care. I only care about the present, what I can do to help the team when facing Indonesia, Malaysia and UAE."

Regarding the competition for the Vietnamese national team's goal, Tan Truong expressed regret that Dang Van Lam could not join the team, but the remaining three goalkeepers are all trying very hard to get a starting position.

"With or without Van Lam, I will still do my best, trying to help the team in the next 3 matches. With Van Lam, I still have to compete. It's not like Van Lam will definitely be the main goalkeeper when he goes to the UAE. I believe I can compete, trying to do my best to help the Vietnamese team complete the goal of advancing. Currently, no one is certain to be the main goalkeeper in the team. If given the opportunity, I will try my best," Tan Truong shared.

The Hanoi FC goalkeeper revealed that in the friendly match with Jordan, he played in the first half and conceded a goal, from a quick counter-attack by the opposing team.
