Piloting labor management at "sensitive" business establishments

To prevent prostitution, in the coming time, some localities will be selected to pilot the development of a support model to ensure the rights of workers in service businesses that are prone to prostitution.

This pilot activity will review and evaluate working conditions and ensure the rights of workers in "sensitive" service establishments that are prone to prostitution.

This is one of the main contents of the Prostitution Prevention and Control Program for the 2016-2020 period, which was recently approved by the Prime Minister on March 7.

According to the recently approved program, in addition to the pilot model for managing service establishments that are prone to prostitution, the program will also pilot two more models for managing prostitution activities.

Prostitution has caused many consequences for society, increasing gangs, criminal organizations that buy and sell drugs, organize illegal drug use, buy and sell people, and organize prostitution in some localities. This evil is forming human trafficking lines for the purpose of prostitution... causing the situation of buying and selling women and children for the purpose of prostitution to increase not only domestically but also internationally.

According to reports from 63 provinces and centrally-run cities, to date, the number of prostitutes with records is 11,240, of which, many are concentrated in some areas such as: Red River Delta (3,673 people), Northeast (913 people), North Central (887 people), Southeast (3,200 people), Mekong River Delta (1,374 people), other areas are 1,189 people. However, the actual number may be higher because this is an activity that is very difficult to control due to its complexity, sophistication and disguise.

Currently, there are new subjects and forms of prostitution: Call girls, sex tourism, foreign prostitutes, male prostitutes, homosexual prostitutes, transgender prostitutes, prostitution brokers via the internet, Facebook, etc. The situation of prostitutes using drugs tends to increase; sex buyers are of many different ages and backgrounds./.
