Nghe An mountain town issues notice on impersonating medical staff to sell books
(Baonghean.vn) - A mountainous town in Nghe An issued a notice about the trick of impersonating district health center staff to defraud book sales.
Mr. Vi Hong Duong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Binh town (Tuong Duong) said: In recent days, a number of people have appeared in the area, pretending to be officials from the district health center, calling to trick a number of food service businesses in the area to sell books on food hygiene and safety.
Currently, there is 1 household that has been tricked by these subjects. To promptly raise the vigilance of the people, on the afternoon of September 28, the Town People's Committee sent a notice to the management board of 6/6 blocks in the area to propagate to the people to be vigilant against this new trick.

Notice No. 532/TB-UBND, dated September 28, 2019 of the People's Committee of Hoa Binh town clearly stated: Currently, in Hoa Binh town, the following scams have appeared: Subjects often use telephones (usually not fixed) to call food service businesses and introduce themselves as staff of the district health center; then announce that the health center will soon organize a training class on food hygiene and safety, however, for the convenience of businesses, the center will send books and documents to the businesses to self-train at home, then the center will organize exams and issue certificates.
Regarding the manuals, the center will send them by post and ask households to pay upon receiving the books, each book costs 550,000 VND. However, the documents sent by the subjects do not have a clear origin and do not have a sending address.

Therefore, the People's Committee of Hoa Binh town informs the management board of 6/6 blocks to urgently announce widely on the block's loudspeaker so that all cadres and people can grasp the above tricks, to avoid being taken advantage of and scammed.
The People's Committee of Hoa Binh town also requested officials and people to strengthen the detection work and report information to the Hoa Binh town Police Department via phone number: 0972.837.113 so that the authorities can promptly handle it.
