Cua Lo town promptly rectifies the situation of "overcharging" for parking tickets on the opening night of the Tourism Festival.

Opening nightCua Lo Tourism Festival2023 has ended with many strong impressions in the hearts of tourists from all over the world. However, besides the highlights, there are still a few issues that make tourists upset, especially the situation of "ripping off" parking fees.

Specifically, on the night of April 14 and the morning of April 15, many photos and angry statuses of people were posted on social networks about the situation of "ripping off" parking tickets in Cua Lo Town. In particular, the parking ticket for motorbikes is 30,000 VND/vehicle/time, for cars is 60,000 - 100,000 VND/vehicle/time.

Upon receiving the feedback, Cua Lo Town Police directed an inspection and initially assigned Nghi Huong Ward Police to verify and clarify the matter.

Initially, Nghi Huong Ward Police clarified that at the spontaneous parking lot opened by Mr. Tran Tho Duoc (born in 1993), residing in Hong Phong block, Nghi Huong ward (Cua Lo town) at crossroad No. 13, in My Thang block, Nghi Huong ward, vehicles were confiscated at the price of 30,000 VND/motorbike and 80,000 VND/car.

This behavior violated the regulations on vehicle parking service prices in Nghe An province according to Decision No. 80/2016/QD-UBND dated December 20, 2016 of the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee.

Currently, the police are completing procedures to advise on handling according to regulations. At the same time, they continue to verify and clarify other vehicle parking facilities that violate regulations.

This morning (April 17), the People's Committee of Cua Lo Town issued Document No. 650/UBND-DT on rectifying urban order management on the opening day of the 2023 tourist season.

In this document, the People's Committee of Cua Lo town stated: In order for the festival to be successful, the People's Committee of the town has directed departments, branches, sectors, and People's Committees of wards to organize and implement the contents synchronously and drastically; however, on the opening night of the festival, through the reflection of the people, tourists and grasping the actual situation, it was found that there were still some problems such as: the posting of parking fees did not comply with regulations, the emergence of new parking locations that were not in accordance with the planning, the situation of street vendors on the streets...

To rectify and completely handle the above situation, at the same time, ensure the success of the tourism year, the Town People's Committee requests:

For the People's Committees of wards: Organize management and implement fee collection for public toilet and shower kiosks and bus stations under their management in accordance with current legal regulations and commitments with the People's Committee of the town regarding service models, prices, fees, environmental sanitation, etc. Strengthen urban order management, strictly implement the "5 no" policy of the People's Committee of the town.

Nghi Huong Ward People's Committee immediately implemented a number of contents: Review and clarify the posting of ticket prices at parking lots; count cases and new unauthorized parking locations on the opening day and handling plans; the situation of street vendors on the streets affecting traffic and urban aesthetics.

The urban order management team specifically reported the situation of street vendors on the opening day and proposed a plan to strictly handle this content.

Relevant units must report and clarify the above contents to the Town People's Committee (through the Urban Management Department) before April 18, 2023.
