Young woman uses electric baton to attack old man, robs 10 million VND

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tang - Head of Hoa Vang District Police (Da Nang City) confirmed that the unit has just issued an emergency arrest warrant for Phung Thi Bich Huong (20 years old, residing in Hoa Chau Commune, Hoa Vang District) to investigate and handle the act of robbery.

Previously, at around 6:00 p.m. on April 25, taking advantage of the time when the family of Ms. Ngo Thi Thien (born in 1940, residing in Tay An, Hoa Chau commune) was away, Huong broke into the house and stole property.

At this time, Mrs. Thien had just returned home when she discovered an intruder and immediately shouted for help. When discovered, Huong immediately used an electric baton she had hidden on her person to attack the homeowner and stole 10 million VND from the victim's pocket.

Upon receiving the report, Hoa Vang District Police coordinated with Nam Hoa Vang Police and Hoa Chau Commune Police to quickly deploy forces to investigate and seize an electric baton more than 200 meters from the scene.

At 9:00 p.m. the same day, the authorities discovered Huong wandering on the road along the Cau Do River (in Hoa Tho Tay ward, Cam Le district), so they arrested her, checked her and recovered more than 6.3 million VND.

At the investigation agency, Huong initially confessed that because she was short of money, she broke into Ms. Thien's house to steal property. When discovered, she used an electric baton hidden on her person to attack her. After stealing 10 million VND, Huong ran to Tay An field to hide, waiting until evening to hire someone to row a boat across the Cau Do River to escape.

According to the investigation, Huong’s family is in very difficult circumstances. The case is currently being further investigated by the police.
