Ankara does not consider the shooting down of the Russian plane as a hostile act. |
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmush said: "Both the Russian and Turkish sides have a desire to improve relations. From the very beginning we said that we have no intention of damaging relations, there is no such thought - to shoot down a plane and create a crisis.
When the plane violated our airspace, it was shot down within the framework of the rules of defense, without knowing which country it belonged to. This was an incident that lasted only 9 seconds.",
"Türkiye did not deliberately shoot down the Russian plane, which means there was no hostile action towards Russia. Therefore, we hope that relations between Russia and Türkiye will return to their previous level," Kurtulmush told the TGRT Haber TV channel.
