America must remain the top priority
Although affirming that the US administration's top priority is still "making America great again", US President Donald Trump has been more "flexible" in making this message more "palatable" to the international community.
Mr. Trump emphasized: “The top duty of the US Government is to serve the American people, meet their needs, ensure their safety, interests and protect their values.
As President of the United States, I will always put America first, and you, the leaders of the nations of the world, will always do the same.
All responsible leaders recognize that their duty is to serve the people and that the government apparatus in each country remains the most important instrument for promoting human living conditions.
Do we have enough love for our country to be ready to protect its independence and sovereignty and ensure the people's rights in the future? Do we dare to stand up to protect the interests and future of our people and bring them a peaceful world?
President Trump affirmed: “America is calling for a great national reawakening, a restoration of spirit, pride and patriotism in people all over the world.”
Putting “rebel states” in sight
Previously, US President Donald Trump had “directed his attack” on the leaders of countries that he considered “rebellious”. President Trump affirmed that these countries not only support terrorism but also threaten other countries and their own people with the most destructive weapons that humanity has ever witnessed.
“There is a small group of leaders of rogue states around the world who are acting in defiance of all UN rules. They also have no respect for their own people.
“If those of us who love justice do not stop it, progressive nations and peoples will be relegated to the margins of history and the forces of destruction will only grow stronger,” Mr. Trump said.
North Korea is “looking for a way to commit suicide”
One of the issues that Mr. Trump specifically mentioned was the tense situation on the Korean peninsula. The US President began by mentioning the case of American citizen Otto Warmbier and many other Americans who were detained by North Korea and later died.
“If that is not enough to make people think twice, the fact that North Korea continues to pursue its path of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles that threaten all of humanity with devastating devastation should make them think again,” Mr. Trump declared.
“It is deplorable that there are nations that not only trade with North Korea, but that they arm and financially support a country that is putting the entire world at risk of nuclear conflict,” Trump added. “There is no nation in the world that can see it in their interest to allow that criminal nation to possess nuclear weapons and missiles.”
“The United States is a powerful nation that has shown great restraint in this regard. However, if forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea,” Trump warned. However, the US President also expressed hope that the North Korean issue would not lead to conflict because “that is not what the United Nations wants.”
Criticism of Iran
Iran's ambassador to the United Nations expressed his displeasure at Mr Trump's harsh words about the Islamic nation.
The US President accused the Iranian government of supporting terrorists “attacking neighboring Arab countries and Israel” before mentioning the historic 2015 nuclear deal. “In fact, this deal is a disgrace to America and I don’t think this deal will last long,” Mr. Trump affirmed.
Destroying IS, aiming to solve the Syrian problem
The US President declared that he had “achieved important victories in the process of destroying IS”. “We greatly appreciate the efforts of agencies at the United Nations to provide humanitarian aid to people in areas liberated from IS.
We also extend special thanks to Jordan, Türkiye and Lebanon for hosting the huge influx of refugees from conflict zones in Syria.”
Finally, referring to the war in Syria, Mr. Trump said that the US is looking for ways to "de-escalate tensions here while seeking a political solution based on respecting the will of the Syrian people."
“The crimes committed by the Bashar al-Assad regime, including the use of chemical weapons against civilians – including children – would shock any normal person,” Mr. Trump said./.
