The intense heat combined with the effects of the southwest monsoon winds has made production and daily life very difficult.

As of July 8th, the entire province had planted 70,000 hectares, mostly summer-autumn rice. Farmers in mountainous districts are continuing to plant the main crop rice, however, due to a lack of water in many areas, land preparation for planting has not yet begun.
