“In the case of two parties buying and selling by authorization or agreement, the state management agency does not know,” Mr. Phuong said, adding: “The area surrounding Long Thanh airport must be inspected to be able to answer. Therefore, if asked if there is any official who owns land in there (the core area of the project - PV), we have not been able to determine.”
Regarding a social networking site writing about Mr. T. (27 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City), the son of a deputy director of a department in Ho Chi Minh City, owning nearly 1,000 hectares of land in Long Thanh District, including a 500-hectare plot of land in Suoi Trau Commune (a commune located entirely within the Long Thanh airport planning area), Mr. Phuong refuted: "The government manages very strictly, not allowing buying, selling, or transferring, so it is impossible for an individual to own 1,000 hectares of land. Through checking land management data, we have not discovered any such case."
